Interested in becoming a board member? No prior board experience is required, we provide training and support for every position.

President

This is a leadership role that helps guide the organization while working closely with a supportive team.

Estimated Time Commitment: 1–2 hours per week

The President helps keep CIMA running smoothly and serves as the primary coordinator for the board. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and responding to the CIMA email account
  • Organizing board activities and priorities
  • Preparing agendas for monthly board meetings
  • Leading monthly board meetings and ensuring productive discussions
  • Keeping board projects, events, and administrative tasks on track
  • Overseeing committees, including the Budget Committee
  • Completing required paperwork and communications with the school district

Vice President

This role is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of CIMA leadership while making a meaningful impact.

Estimated Time Commitment: 1–2 hours per week

The Vice President supports the President and helps ensure the success of CIMA’s programs and initiatives. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with board projects, events, and committee activities
  • Supporting meeting preparation and facilitation
  • Stepping in for the President when needed
  • Helping coordinate volunteers and board communications
  • Taking on special projects throughout the year

Treasurer

This role provides a valuable opportunity to support the organization’s long-term success.

Estimated Time Commitment: 1–2 hours per week

The Treasurer oversees CIMA’s financial operations and helps ensure responsible stewardship of funds. Responsibilities include:

  • Depositing income and managing financial transactions
  • Issuing payments for approved expenses
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and receipts
  • Preparing transparent financial reports for the board
  • Co-chairing the Budget Committee with the President
  • Developing and monitoring the annual budget
  • Tracking income and expenses throughout the year to ensure financial goals are met

Secretary

This role is ideal for someone who is organized and detail-oriented.

Estimated Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours per month

The Secretary plays an important role in maintaining accurate records of board activities and decisions. Responsibilities include:

  • Taking detailed notes during monthly board meetings
  • Recording discussions, motions, and voting outcomes
  • Preparing and distributing meeting minutes after each meeting
  • Saving approved documents in the CIMA Dropbox for recordkeeping

Fundraising Coordinator

Most of the time commitment occurs during the fall and spring fundraising periods.

Estimated Time Commitment: Approximately 1.5 hours per month. Primarily concentrated around two annual fundraising campaigns

The Fundraising Coordinator leads CIMA’s fundraising efforts, which are essential to supporting student programs and activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and organizing fundraising campaigns
  • Coordinating fundraising activities with board members and volunteers
  • Promoting fundraising events and opportunities
  • Tracking and reporting fundraising results

Hospitality Coordinator

This is a fun, event-focused role that directly enhances the concert experience.

Estimated Time Commitment: 1–2 hours per month during concert season

The Hospitality Coordinator helps create a welcoming experience for families and guests at concerts and special events. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing refreshments and snack bar operations at concerts
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory of supplies
  • Shopping for necessary items
  • Coordinating volunteer staffing with support from board members and parent volunteers

Communications Coordinator

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys communication, creativity, and community engagement.

Estimated Time Commitment: 2–3 hours per month

The Communications Coordinator helps keep families informed and engaged with CIMA activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing CIMA’s social media accounts
  • Updating and maintaining the organization’s website
  • Creating and distributing the monthly newsletter
  • Promoting events, announcements, and fundraising efforts
